The new year just started and we should be thinking about trends that are coming up so we can find a way to incorporate it into our wardrobes. Trends can sometimes get expensive, depending where you look, and go in and out of style each season so it’s always great to find affordable options! Fashion week just kicked off in Paris, so there are many trends that appeared on the runway that you can be on the lookout for at your local retailer. You can find vibrant hues and skirts at affordable retailers for under $60 just to see if it’ll fit with your personal style.

Every year, it seems that tailored trousers get more and more relaxed and there’s nothing wrong with that! Trousers were known to be only “workwear” appropriate or you know someone was just coming from work or preparing for a job interview when you saw them. Times have changed, along with the fit, and the slouchiness adds a cool element that skinny trousers couldn’t quite grasp.

Motto for this year: the brighter, the better. Color in general has been stagnant in every season, whether it be pastels or vibrant hues, and it isn’t going anywhere. This time around, we are here for all the bold color combinations like blue and green. If your style is more drawn to neutrals, maybe try out one color at a time in your next outfit just to test the waters. Adding a nice pop of color will always be a showstopper on the streets and you’ll stand out just a little bit more.

When you think of the word “preppy,” you automatically get flashbacks of your middle school uniform or what you would see on tv of what the norm was for preppy. It’s more reimagined and elevated with sweater vests, button-ups and collars galore. This trend is definitely more on the neutral side and perfect for the ones who do not want to experiment with color, but still look chic at the same time. Loafers are also another item in this category that was seen numerous times last season that aren’t going anywhere either.
